Biography

Shoji Kasahara was born in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Pref., Japan, in 1965. He received the B. Eng. degree from the Department of Applied Mathematics and Physics, Faculty of Engineering, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan, in 1989. He received the M. Eng. and Dr. Eng. degrees from the Division of Applied Systems Science, Faculty of Engineering, Kyoto University in 1991 and 1996, respectively. He was with the Educational Center for Information Processing, Kyoto University from 1993 to 1997, as an Assistant Professor. In 1996, he was a visiting scholar of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC, USA. He was also a visiting scholar of the University of Waterloo, Canada in July, 1996. From 1997 to 2005, he was with Department of Information Systems, Graduate School of Information Science, Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Ikoma, Nara, Japan. From 2005 to 2012, he was an Associate Professor of Department of Systems Science, Graduate School of Informatics, Kyoto University, Kyoto Japan. Since 2012, he has been a Professor of Graduate School of Information Science, Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Ikoma, Nara, Japan. His research interests include queueing theory and performance analysis of computer and communication systems. He is a fellow of IEICE and ORSJ, a senior member of IEEE, and a member of INFORMS, IPSJ, and ISCIE.

Biography
Dr. Ahmed Jamal Abdullah Al-Gburi is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Technology and Engineering, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Malaysia. He is a senior member of IEEE with memberships in the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT), and Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). Dr. Al-Gburi received his M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in electronics and computer engineering from UTeM in 2017 and 2021, respectively. He served as a postdoctoral fellow with the Microwave Research Group at UTeM from 2021-2023 and was recognized as one of the top 2% scientists worldwide by Stanford University in 2022. His research focuses on microwave sensors, metasurfaces, UWB antennas, and miniaturized antennas for 5G applications. With over 2,062 citations, Dr. Al-Gburi has authored numerous publications in electromagnetics and antenna design. He has received the Best Paper Award from IEEE and earned multiple gold, silver, and bronze medals in international competitions, establishing himself as a leading researcher in microwave engineering and 5G technology

Biography
An accomplished electrical and telecommunication engineering professional with over 21 years of experience in research, academics, and senior-level administration. Recognized as a senior IEEE member with over 110 peer-reviewed publications, an h-index of 30, and ranked among the top 2% most cited scientists in Telecommunications, Antennas, and Electromagnetics. As a Professor, Head of Research and Chairman of the Telecommunication Engineering Department, I have enhanced the diversity and skills of researchers, faculty, staff, and students. My leadership roles include Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director of Postgraduate Studies at UET Mardan, overseeing academic, financial, and management operations, contributing to strategic planning, and establishing industry liaisons. His career includes roles at National Development Complex, Loughborough University, and Northwestern Polytechnical University. I am an HEC-approved Ph.D. supervisor, registered Professional Engineer, and program evaluator for the Pakistan Engineering Council. I also serve as a technical reviewer for theses, conferences, and journals. His results-oriented professional involved in engineering design, consultancy, strategic planning, process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making at the management level. I seek challenging roles that utilize my experience and skills while fostering professional development.
